1950 Mercury Convertible restyled by Barris Kustoms for Bob Lund. Bob's Merc was shaved for handles and emblems, and was fully electric push-button operated. The headlights rims were frenched by using 1952 Mercury rings. Barris crafted on rear quarter panels from a 1951 Mercury. Theese were modified by inserting 1954 Pontiac taillights.[1] The stock bumpers were replaced by 1951 Lincoln units.[1] The exhaust passed through the rear bumper corners. The grille opening was rounded and the gravelshield was molded to the body. The grille was similar to the one on Dan Landon's 1949 Chevrolet, and featured two Frazer horizontal bars with three 1951 DeSoto grille teeths in the middle. Side trim from a 1953 Pontiac was reversed and installed, which matched the contour of the dip in the door perfectly. The Merc was also fit with dual spotlights.[2]
