1962 Ford Thunderbird Sports Roadster restyled by Barris Kustoms for Jeannie O'Neal of Bakersfield, California. In 1963, Jeannine brought her stock Thunderbird over to Barris Kustoms for a makeover. The roadster was turned into a sweet, mild custom. The car featured lakes pipes which were molded into the rockers. The factory trim was replaced by a scoops that was molded to the hood. A new grille was custom made and chrome trim around the wheel wells were added. The deck lid was shaved and new taillight lenses were made out of red acrylic with two 1962 Mercury Meteor lenses in each light. The car was fit with Barris Crests, chromed reversed wheels, and finally it was painted Candy red. The interior was redone in black Naugahyde with Mouton fur carpets. Jeannine loved the result of her finished car, and she entered it, at George Barris insistence, in both the Bakersfield Autorama and the Stockton Autorama, where it won class awards.[1]
