The program from the 1960 Kustom Kar Kapades.

The Monterey Kustom Kar Kapades was sponsored by the Slow Pokes of Seaside car club.[1]


Kustom Kar Kapades of 1960

The 1960 Kustom Kar Kapades was held March 4-5-6 at Exhibit Hall Monterey Co. Fairgrounds in Monterey, California. The show was presented by the Slow Pokes of Seaside car club.

J-1: Louie Stojanovich's 1947 Plymouth Coupe
J-2: Burt Hamrol's 1950 Ford
J-3: Clyde Locke's 1957 Ford Coupe


Semi-Hardtop (Early):
L-1: George Dias' 1953 Chevrolet Bel Air


Semi-Hard Tops (4-Door):
L-10: Dennis Reinero's 1956 Oldsmobile 4-door hardtop


Monterey Kar Kapades 1956

The 1956 Monterey Kar Kapades was held in March 1956. The show was held by the Slo-Pokes Car Club. Dean Jeffries attended the show, pinstriping cars attending. Andy Southard watched Dean do his magic at the show, and went straight back home to practice himself.[1]


During the 1956 Monterey Kar Kapades George Barris drove a kustomized quarter midget into a fence. The quarter midget was badly damaged.[1]
