1957 Chevrolet restyled by Bob McNulty for Hayward Rod Benders member Lauralee Dobbel of Hayward, California. Bob was best known for his Corvette customs and fiberglass work but he also built this neat Custom for Lauralee. Bob removed the original grille bar and inserted a modified Corvette grille which featured additional teeth. The hood was scooped and peaked, and a set of quad headlights were installed with a custom ring in the reworked and peaked fenders. The door handles were shaved along with all other unnecessary chrome. The side trim featured an extra top trim piece, reversed and added to the bottom. An extra length was tacked on to the center chrome strip. The taillights were quad as well, by adding extra lenses in the exhaust tips. Once the bodywork was done, it was painted in Frosted Turquoise with silver scallops outlines painted by Tommy the Greek.[1] The interior was trimmed in white pleated Naugahyde. The trunk compartment was upholstered in white tuck & roll as well, with safety equipment and tools. The car was lowered by cutting the coils up front, and adding 2" lowering blocks in the rear. Larger tires were installed in the rear. Side pipes were added as well. Edsel hubcaps and dual Appleton spotlights wrapped up the style.[2]
