Kustomrama Newsletter No. 16

June 29, 2009

Another week, another Kustomrama newsletter. Like many old jalopies it is hard to function at all without an electrical fan! But here is what I managed to do last week:

Mario Pirondini's 1950 Ford

You don't see too many 1950 Fords wearing 1957 Pontiac side trim. When Cleary Motors restyled Mario Pirondini's 1950 Ford Shoebox they fit the car with side trim from a 1957 Pontiac. The trim fits the car well, and makes it stand out from all of the other 1950 Fords. Click here to read more

Jesper Bram Pinstriping

Last week we featured some pictures from the Bedrock Weekend Show in Denmark. This week we will continue to focus on Denmark, as we present you all a very talented Danish pinstriper named Jesper Bram. Jesper was born in 1973 and is doing a great work in keeping the old art form alive. In the good ol' days Kustomrama presented up and coming lowbrow artists every now and then. It's been a while since I've run a Featured Artsist story, so when Jesper Bram was smart enough to present himself in the Kustomrama Wikipedia I figured it would have been cool to do a featured story on him. And from looking at his work I'm sure Jesper is one of the most talented pinstripers in Denmark. Click here to read more

Kustomrama Photo Archive

I really dig this weeks featured photo. I call it "Ghost Riders", and it shows 3 guys in front of a dirt track Ford Model A Roadster. Click here to visit the Kustomrama Photo Archive

StripAll - Strippin' the Easy Way!

Engine parts ready to be dipped in StripAll

After 24 hours in the bath all traces of rust, paint, lacquer and carbon is gone

Last week I introduced you all to our new sponsor StripAll. This week I will tell you more about this neat product. StripAll is a powder cleaning product that removes rust, paint, lacquer, carbon deposits and fat in one easy treatment. All you need in order to use this product is an empty barrel, and some water. You make a mixture of 1 kg StripAll to 5 – 6 parts water. So depending on how big barre you have it's all up to you how much StripAll you would need. I have tried StripAll myself on my 1934 Ford. This winter I was supposed to rechrome the windshield frame on the car. So I put it into my barrel of StripAll, and let it sit there for a week. Do to numerous layers of paint it needed some extra time. After a week, all of the paint and rust were gone, and I had a bare metal windhsield frame in my hands. When all of the rust, paint and, fiberglass were gone it turned out that the windshield frame was actually too bad to even consider rechroming, so I ended up putting chromevinyl on it..... but this wasn't StripAll's fault.... anyway if you have a spare 1934 Ford windshield frame laying around please let me know.

Back to StripAll. The product is currently only available in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. But the StripAll team is constantly expanding their markets, so if you live somewhere in EU or the USA, and you want to buy or become a StripAll reseller feel free to email post@stripall.no. I promised you all some pictures from Live & Jive / Hultsfred Hayride this week. But I never managed to reach that far south in Sweden, as I stranded in Gøteborg after seeing Mike Ness and his Social Distortion. But if you have been to any cool shows lately, don't hesitate to add your pictures to the Kustomrama Wiki! Ok that's all for this week, rust in peace, or strip the easy way!

Cheers,
Sondre
