Andrew "Drew" Jackson's 1959 Chevrolet Impala of Long Beach, California. This photo shows the "Five Line" version of the car as it appeared in the early 1970s.
Bill Merrill's 1959 Chevrolet Corvette of Thermopolis, Wyoming. Bill got the Corvette in 1959, while he was a junior in high school. He lived in La Jolla, California for a short while in the spring of 1959, and he had Dean Jeffris lay a panel paint job on the car. Unfortunately, the car was vandalized and the hood was damaged. Jeffries came down to La Jolla and picked up the car to fix the damage and painted the Corvette candy apple red with a gold underbase. The side panel was left gold with a clear coat covering it.
Cody Walls' 1959 Chevrolet Station Wagon of Dover, Delaware. The build was started in 2006 and completed in 2014.
Dennis Unea's 1959 Chevrolet Impala was restyled by Bill Hines in 1969.
Dick Rothfuss' 1959 Chevrolet Impala of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dick's Impala, known as "Poopsie", was restyled late 1959 - early 1960.
Ed Biggs' 1959 Chevrolet El Camino of Davenport, Iowa. Ed was a member of the Idlers of Davenport car club and he ran Biggs Automotive Service with his father. In the Summer of 1959, Ed decided to turn a brand new El Camino into a shop truck and rolling advertisement. He wanted to give it a custom paint job, so he ordered the car and had it delivered to a Gardena, California dealer so Joe Andersen of Joe Andersen's Custom Shop could pick it up and give it a panel paint job. Ed joined the US Air Force in September of 1959. He was stationed at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany, and decided to have his custom shipped with him to Europe.
Forest Cutler's 1959 Chevrolet Impala was restyled in South Dakota in the early 1960s.
Harald Sannum's 1959 Chevrolet Impala was restyled in 1965, and it is known as one of the first full custom cars of Norway.
Joe Roth's 1959 Chevrolet Impala of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Restyled by Cudahy Auto Body, the build was started in 1960 and completed in 1961.
Keith Christensen's 1959 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery of Norwalk, California. Keith and Doug Carney installed hydraulic lifts on the car in 1961. It was also dressed up with a Murano Pearl Yellow paint job by Larry Watson of Watson's House of Style. Keith ran Gene's Mufflers, and the Sedan Delivery was his daily driver.
Sven Sandberg's 1959 Chevrolet of Stockholm, Sweden. The car was originally a two-door hardtop, but Sven cut the roof off it and fit it with a tonneau cover in 1965.
Dave Wright's 1959 Chevrolet El Camino of Poole, United Kingdom is a distinctive custom that originated from Wright's admiration for Gene Winfield and Larry Watson. Named The Golden Idol, Wright's El Camino manifests his vision and the expertise of these celebrated car customizers. He purchased the car in 1989. In 1994, he decided to turn it into a 1960s show car. After restyling the body, Wright flew Gene Winfield in from Mojave, California to have him lay down one of his famous fade paint jobs. The build was completed two years later, in 2009.
Dave and Sue Wright's 1959 Chevrolet Brookwood Station Wagon of Poole, United Kingdom. Known as "The Headhunter," Dave and Sue found the car at the Pomona Swapmeet in 2001. It underwent a transformative journey, starting with a green paint and a Metalflake roof. It later received an Air Ride kit and a striking panel paint job by Stylecraft Coachworks. The build was completed in 2023.
