1929 Ford Model A Roadster owned and built by Dick King. Dick was a member of the North Bay Rodstersand the Asphalt Flyers.

Dick's roadster was channeled over a 1932 Ford frame, and it ran a handbuilt track nose, louvered hood, and bellypan.[1] In 1951 the car was a runner-up for the America's Most Beautiful Roadster award at the National Roadster Show along with Bill NieKamp's 1929 Ford Model A Roadster.[2]

Dick ran the roadster in Reno where he received a coupe of timing plaques in the 1/4 mile.[2]

The roadster was restored from 1986 to 1990. Bill Oliver of Trabuco Rod Works did the chassis, suspension, frame, and mechanical work on the car. Bruce Henderson of Auto History Restored did the bodywork. Neil Emory's son, Don Emory of Emory's Restoration, finsished the body and paint work before the car was sent to A.L. Cooper in Huntington Beach for upholstery work. After the restoration Dick's old roadster featured a custom windshield, aluminum nose, aluminum louvered side panels and hood, Pontiac tail lights, a Pierce Arrow instrument panel fit with Stewart-Warner gauges, a fully boxed 1932 Ford frame that was shortened with rear kick up and custom x-members, a chromed and dropped front axle, tranverse spring, modified spilt wishbones, and tube shocks all around. The car was powered by a 1946 Ford flathead with Offenhauser heads, an Edelbroc SU359 manifold with 3 Stromberg 97's, and custom headers. The engine was hooked to a 1939 Ford transmission with Zephyr gears. Stopping power was provided by 1940 Ford brakes all around.[3]

The restored roadster was owned by Barry Williams. After Barry died, Bob Campbell of 356 Services was asked to sell the Barry Williams Collection which consisted of the Dick King roadster and 5 other cars. The collection was advertised for sale in August 2010.[3]
