The George McLaughlin Roadster is a sport custom built by George McLaughlin of Yakima, Washington. George built the roadster from salvaged parts in the 1940s. The chassis came from an old Ford, and it featured a Ford flathead V8 engine. A low-slung body with an enormous grille was built from scratch. A 1936 Ford coupe roof was modified to fit the body. The roof could be lifted off on hot days. The build took several years, and George never finished it. He did get it running, and he drove it around in gray primer. In the early 1950s George moved to Richland, bringing the roadster along. George's nephew, David Lust, last saw the car in George's backyard in Richland the mid 1960s. George sold the car locally in the late 1960s or early 1970s to someone who wanted to take it on and finish it.
