George Shugart of Culver City, California ran a PDQ Dealership at 9801 West Washington Blvd, across from Culver Theater, along with a partner named "Bob" in 1949 - 1950. George's son, Reed Shugart, believes Bob could have been Bob Arner, that at the time owned The Ralph Schenck Streamliner. The business was named George and Bob's PDQ Service, and according to a flier they handed out to their neighbors, "George and Bob would help your car give smoother, more dependable, more efficient service!" You could either get a thorough factory-appoved-method Lubrication including cleaning car inside and out, cleaning glass, dressing tires and running boards, or a completely cleaning and replacing of wheel bearings. While running the garage, George bought a 1946 Chevrolet Convertible from Bill Elliot that he restyled. Bill was a coworker of George that couldn't afford the payments on his car.[1]

George also ran a garage and gas station at 11049 Washington Blvd. in Culver City, the Washington and Washington Place intersection, in the early 1950s along with Bill Elliott. Sandy Belond rented space from George, and the place eventually became the shop where Belond built headers.[1]
