1959 Chevrolet Impala restyled by Dick "Peep" Jackson of Dick's Custom Shop for Jim Cirivello of Long Beach, California. Jim, who was a member of the Long Beach Searchers car club, bought the Chevy brand new from Beach City Chevy in Long Beach for $5,100. Over the years, Dick's name has been misspelled Cirovello instead of Cirivello in numerous publications.[2] Dick was a former employee at Barris Kustoms who had started his own body shop and custom car studio. At Dick's shop the hood was dechromed and blue-anodized rims surrounded the headlights. The grille consisted of a 1954 Chevrolet grille bar with extra teeth added. Four shortened 1959 Cadillac taillights were placed in each lens, which were mounted on flat red acrylic plastic sheets. Jim lowered the car 4 inches by cutting the coils in front and installing lowering blocks in the rear. Striking panel paint work feathers from Kandy Blue into Pearl White base. The interior was done in blue and white Naugahyde and featured a then-trendy rear seat tonneau cover. Jim also had dual spotlights and Kolor Kromed Dodge Lancer Hubcaps added to his custom.[3]
