1929 Ford Model A coupe owned and built by Joe Brienza of West Islip, New York. Joe bought the coupe body along with a 1948 Mercury in 1954. Having the urge for a hot rod, Joe filled in the quarter windows and chopped the top 4 inches before he channeled the body 10 inches over the frame. Joe's wife took the body off the Mercury and cleaned the chassis while Joe was at work. Because of the long chassis, Joe decided to extend the cowl and hood. While building the coupe, Joe bought the engine of a totaled 1951 Cadillac four-door from a wrecking yard. He took the engine from the Cadilac, and installed it in the coupe. The engine was hooked to a LaSalle tranny and a 1941 Cadillac rearend. Inside, Joe installed an Auburn dash. The build took around 6 months. It was a fun car to ride around in, but as Joe didn't like "rat rods", he sold it and bought a 1936 Ford 3-Window Coupe instead. He sold the car without the engine, and installed the Cadillac engine in the '36.[1]
