1940 Ford convertible owned by Mark Garza of Nipomo, California.[1]

It Came From Detroit

Mark bought the old custom from Edward Walley in 2015. Walley who owns R&R Auto Wrecking in Arroyo Grande, California, told Mark that he bought the car in Detroit in 2008. After he bought it, Walley had it sent out to California. He was going to restore it as a convertible but lost interest and then sold it to Mark.[1]

Chopped and Padded Top

It looks like the car has been restyled in the 1940s or the 1950s, and according to Mark, the rear fenders are leaded, and the welds on the top appears to be gas welded. The top has been chopped, and the car features a Carson style padded top. When Mark bought the car it came with a louvered hood, this was not the original hood of the car.[1]

Looking for Information

Mark plans to start the project sometime in 2018, and he is currently looking for any information he can about the car before he starts the restoration. His intentions are to find out the history of the car; "If there is any good history I will restore it back to how it was. If there is no known history I may do some customizing of my own liking." Please get in touch with Kustomrama at mail@kustomrama.com if you recognize Mark's mystery custom and have any information to share.[1]
