Ted Leventhal's 1950 Chevrolet Convertible at the 1955 Motorama. Ted's Chevrolet was restyled by Emory Robinson's Custom Shop in 1955. Painted in a green iridescent lacquer by Mel Pinoli's Body and Paint Shop, Ted's Chevrolet is known as the first car ever to receive a Candy paint job.
An "Award for Excellence" plaque from the 1953 Motorama. Dan Wildhirt came across this in the mid 1990s, while he worked at Petersen Publishing. "This was in a pile of ephemera that was being tossed out by the Petersen photo archive, and I thought it would be worth saving," Dan told Sondre Kvipt of Kustomrama in December of 2020.
