Arne Lindstrand's 1955 Chevrolet of Stockholm, Sweden. Arne's Chevrolet was restyled in the 1960s. This is how it appeared at the 1966 Hot Rod Show in Stockholm.
Barry Atkins' 1955 Chevrolet of Columbia, Connecticut. The car was supposedly restyled in 1958, but the original owner and builder are unknown. Barry bought the old custom from Red McCormick of East Hartford, Connecticut in the early 1980s. He restored and restyled it further before he sold it in 1984.
Bill Sharpe's 1955 Chevrolet of Lynwood, California. Bill was a founding member and the first President of the Tridents of Southern California car club, and his Chevrolet was restyled in the late 1950s. The car was named "Dracula."
Bob Dance's 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible, of California.
Dave Paul's 1955 Chevrolet Convertible of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The car was built in Denver. Paul bought it in 1978.
George Barris' 1955 Chevrolet truck, the Kopper Kart, was built as a promotion vehicle for Barris Kustoms of Lynwood, California. The build was completed in 1957.
George Pillion's 1955 Chevrolet Convertible of Whippany, New Jersey as it appeared in 1960. George's Chevrolet, known as The Sportsman, was restyled by Korky's Kustom Shop.
Gerald Zielinski's 1955 Chevrolet of St. Louis, Missouri. Gerald was a member of the Road Angels of St. Louis and his Chevrolet was restyled in the late 1950s or the early 1960s.
Harry Hoskin's 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air of Maricopa, California. Restyled by Barris Kustoms, the car went trough several iterations. The first version was completed in 1955.
Henry Contreras' 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air of Norwalk, California. Henry was a member of the Rogues of Long Beach car club, and his Chevrolet was restyled several times in the 1950s and 1960s. Branson's Custom Shop was responsible for many of the modifications on the car.
Jerry Feigner's 1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air, of Wilmington, California. Jerry was a member of the Cut-Outs of Long Beach car club, and his Chevrolet was known as "Lil Honey Bee." In 1958 Mike Clines gave the car a scallop and pintripe paint job in his father's garage in Long Beach. Mike also added the chrome tape to the top of the car.
John McLaughlin's 1955 Chevrolet of Sapulpa, Oklahoma. In the late 1950s Jim sent the car on a train from Oklahoma to Barris Kustoms in California to have they finish the build and paint it.
Milt Goodman's 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Milt was a member of the British Columbia Custom Car Association. He bought the car new in 1955, and spent the next three years restyling it. The build was completed in 1958.
Nick Phillips' 1955 Chevrolet convertible was restyled by Bo Huff at Bo Huff Customs. Completed in 2004, the car is a clone of Sam Barris' 1955 Chevrolet convertible as it appeared while Stan Robles owned it.
Rodney Rice's 1955 Chevrolet of Ann Arbor, Michigan. The car, known as "the Astorian," was restyled by the Alexander Brothers and Fostoria Customs. The build was completed in 1964.
Shelby Cornett's 1955 Chevrolet convertible of Ogden, Utah. Shelby was a member of the Stags of Ogden car club.
Stan Makrush's 1955 Chevrolet Convertible of Foxboro, Massachusetts was restyled around 1957/1958. The car is known as the Gypsy.
Gary Oliver's 1955 Chevrolet of Pontiac, Michigan. Known as "El Prado II," the car is a recreation of a custom Gary had in 1960. The clone was completed in 1984, featuring a scallop paint job by Paul Hatton, just like the original "El Prado."
Charles Ritter's 1955 Chevrolet of Warren, Ohio. Ritter owned the car in the early to mid 1970s, and it was already customized when he bought it.
Vic Collins' 1955 Chevrolet truck of Rahway, New Jersey. Vic's truck is a clone of George Barris' 1955 Chevrolet truck, the Kopper Kart. Restyled by Customs by Flash and John Maurice, the build was started in 1999, and completed in 2008.

Short after it was introduced, the 1955 Chevrolet became a popular car to customize. Popular tricks was to modify the grille, hradlights, taillights, and chromework. One of the most popular tricks on the Chevy was to change the side trim, installing a piece that ran parallel to original dip in the body just aft of the door.
