1955 Oldsmobile 88 restyled by Barris Kustoms for Don Coulter of Pittsburg, California. Up front the hood was shaved for ornamentation and the original grillework was replaced by extruded metal. The headlight rings were molded to the body and fit with a custom shade and finished-off with 1/4" round rod. The deck lid was also shaved of ornamentation and the taillights replaced by a set of paired 1955 Plymouth lenses that were frenched into contoured extensions. The exhaust was routed through the bumper. The door handles were removed and the car was fit with flared skirts in the rear. The Oldsmobile discs were modified by adding gold plated bullets. Both interior and exterior were done in contrasting rust and golden colors.[2] The car was painted with 30 coats of finishing white lacquer and gold rust metallic. October 14 - 23, 1955 Don's Olds was exhibited at the 6th annual Motorama.[3]
