The Shadoff Special
The Shadoff Special was a Hemi-powered streamliner built and raced by Ray Brown and Mal Hooper. The streamliner got its name after a Pomona Chrysler - Plymouth dealer, Bill Shadoff, who sponsored the project with $2,500. Carl Fleischmann was responsible for the chassis on the streamliner. In 1953 Hooper ran 235.7 mph at Bonneville Nationals with the landspeed-racer. [1]
