Walter M. Murphy Company
The Walter M. Murphy Company was a prestigious Pasadena-based coachbuilder active during the 1920s and early 1930s. Best known for its elegant and restrained custom bodies on Duesenberg chassis, Murphy’s signature style combined classical proportions with clean lines and subtle detailing, often finished in two-tone paint with minimal ornamentation. One of its most iconic designs was the Convertible Coupe with a disappearing top, which perfectly captured the era’s luxury and innovation. Although Murphy closed its doors in 1932, the company's work remains highly prized and continues to influence customizers seeking timeless, coachbuilt aesthetics.
