The Coachcraft Special was built from bare Ford rails. Essex rails were dropped on, and the entire frame structure was then boxed in. Single transverse leaf springs were used in front and rear. All body parts and panels were of sheet steel that was hammered to sleek perfection. The car was finished in lush royal blue. Inside the car was upholstered with pigskin. Instrument panel was cut from golden mahogany.[1]
