This photo from The Bob Stephenson Collection shows Dean Jeffries' own BSA A10 motorcycle, finished in July of 1956 with sweeping flames and pinstriping by Jeffries himself. Credited in the 1956 Norwalk Motorcade program, the bike was Jeffries’ personal ride, one he reportedly used to visit Von Dutch on, before riding home drunk, as recalled by Aaron Kahan. The Harpoon added that Jeffries often showed the bike alongside his Mercury convertible before the Barris shop fire. With its perfect stance and hand-done detailing, the BSA embodies the early Jeffries style, a mix of Von Dutch’s raw imagination and Barris’ polished flair.
