Gene advertised the car for sale in Hot Rod Magazine August 1963. It had just been restyled for the 1963 season, and the reason for selling it was that he had no time to show it.

1959 Buick owned by Gene McClellan of Dodge City, Kansas. According to Del Le'Trab, the car was built by Dave Parks and Steve Harper of Dodge City. Dave was a personal friend of Darryl Starbird, and a small-town customizer.[1]
