1963 Chevrolet Corvette owned by Richard Fleener of Des Moines, Iowa. In 1958 Fleener attended the International Motor Sports Show in Des Moines, Indiana with his best friend. "We were only 12 years old but that show changed my life," he told Sondre Kvipt of Kustomrama in 2019. "I wanted so much to grow up and have a car in the show. Of all the cars in the show that year, that display left a lasting impression."[1]

Approximately 12 years later Richard fulfilled his dream to show a car at the Des Moines Veterans Auditorium, having the Corvette that he showed for two years. He won his class both years, and was also awarded for best use of color the first year. "The paint job cost $700, and the painter was a local hippie in Des Moines."[1]
