1949 Oldsmobile 88 Rocket coupe owned by Globe Pacers car club member Chuck Edwall of San Diego, California. Chuck got the Olds in 1957, when he was 16 years old. It ran a 303 cubic inch V8, a 1937 LaSalle transmission and 4:10 gears. In 2019 Chuck told Sondre Kvipt of Kustomrama that he used to cruise it to Harvey's Broiler, Bobs on Colorado and Glendale, The Witchstand, and many other places in Los Angeles. He also drag raced it at San Fernando, San Gabriel, Pomona, and Lions in Long Beach. He drove it all through High School, going trough 13 HydraMatic transmissions before installing the LaSalle.[1]

Scavenger Pipes

In 1959, Sonny’s Muffler in San Gabriel, California installed scavenger pipes on the car.
