Cadillac Sombrero Hubcaps
1948-1952 Cadillac hubcaps were nicknamed "Sombreros" because they had a definite hat that resembled a Sombrero. This style of cap became so popular in the early 1950s that inexpensive accessory knock-offs with modified Cadillac crests were produced and marketed under names like Calnevar Deluxe Full Wheel Covers and Hollywood Wheel Discs. Later years, the Sombrero label has incorrectly been attached to later Cadillac hubcaps in magazine articles.

Robert A. Radcliffe III at King Kustoms can modify original or reproduction '47-'52 Cadillac Sombreros and '53s for you. They can be sent to King Kustoms before or after being chromed or polished- it doesn't matter. Robert does prefer to do them before, if possible. All Cadillacs of the 40's and 50's in Las Vegas makes the best reproductions. McVey's quality has really been poor, so he tries to avoid doing those. Once Robert receives the customer's hubcaps, turnaround is one week or less. He accepts personal checks or PayPayl, once returned shipping is included. King Kustoms charge $180 per pair of two or $340 per set of four, including the new trim rings. Robert can also do the larger 16" commercial (hearse, flower car) '47-'52 Cadillac Sombreros, earlier- '39-'41 Cadillac hubcaps, mated to a trim ring, to create a full hubcap for a 16" Ford/Merc rim. Get in touch with Robert at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the King Kustoms Facebook Page for more information.
